Welcome to the seventh episode of the Teaching Abroad Podcast all about how to find international school jobs. Teaching abroad is a wonderful, wild ride. I feel like I am saying a lot on this podcast that something or another was the hardest part because I remember it that way. Without much guidance and having to figure this all out on my own, I felt like I got over one challenge only to be presented with another. I figured out the places I could go to and decided what might suit me best, only to realise I had no idea how to actually apply for the job.
Do you want to teach abroad, but struggling to find international school jobs that suit you? Then this episode is for you!
This is what this episode is about. The very literally how do I find job applications. It’s all good and well to know what kinds of jobs I want and the kinds of schools I’m interested in but like how do I actually apply for them. Where do international schools advertise? Is the hiring process different to what it is in my home country? Who knows – not me! Well, at least not Kirstie of 2019. But 2022 Kirstie, who spent two years in London, and now teaches in an International School in Hong Kong is well versed with where to go.
In this episode you’ll learn:
- Why you should start looking at job applications today
- Four different types of places to look for international school jobs
- Direct links to different job application websites
- If you’re cut out to teach a new curriculum
